Curriculum

 The school is following the syllabus of N.C.E.R.T.  pattern and medium of instruction is English with Hindi as the second language. Sanskrit is being taught as third language from 6Th to 10Th.

The school keeps a cumulative record of the progress of the students. To ensure the progress of the children the system of Unit tests and monthly tests have been introduced. Result of these tests is accumulated in computers and is always accessible to students, teachers and parents. The record of terminal examinations is compiled in the progress report cards. The progress report cards and answer sheets of term exams are made available to the parents in the Parents-Teachers Meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

 Absence

Those absent for one day for any reason (including sickness) should get it entered in the Leave Record   of the school diary and get it signed by the Principal or Vice-Principal. Those who are absent for  more than one day, should send a leave letter/application on the second day and should also get it entered in the Leave Record and get it signed when they report back to school.

 

 

 

 

 Sickness

Those sick more than three days must submit a Medical Certificate on the day of reporting to school. Moreover any student returning to school after an infectious or contagious disease should produce a Fitness Certificate from a doctor, permitting him/her to attend the school.

 

 

 

 

     

Examination 

The school follows the Annual system of Examination from classes V to X. Two terminals and final Examination are held in the months of July, November and March respectively.  For classes V to X final examinations cover the entire syllabus. So far as Classes LKG to IV are concerned, course prescribed for 1St Terminal will be shed off after the 1St Term Examinations in July. However the Grammar and Composition portion of languages, science practices, diagrams and projects, map reading, charts, diagrams and projects in social science will be carried over to 2nd and final examinations.

 

Admission 

The registration for admission starts normally from first week of January on the basis of first come first serve and interview.  Parents desiring admission of their wards/ children are requested to complete the enclosed application form for registration and submit it in the school office. Children whose names are called for a test and interview in the month of March. If a candidate does not appear for the test or is rejected in the interview he/she forfeits his/her registration.

 

Minimum Age for LKG Class is above 3 years as on 1st April of the academic year. Admissions will be offered based on the performance of the child in the admission test, giving special preference for admission to NRI students, brothers and sisters of past and present Snower villains, children of serving defense personnel and war widows. The school reserves the right to refuse admission without assigning any reason to do so.           

   

School Library Rules

The school library is open to all bonafide students of the school during school hours. 

  • Strict silence should be observed by all inside the library.

  • Only one book will be issued per card and no one may take a book on another ‘s card. Books will not be issued during the vacations.

  • Students are not allowed to keep  with them any book borrowed from the library for more than one week. Books overdue may be returned on any class day with a fine of Rs.5/- per day.

  • Books lost will be replaced by the borrower.

  • Writing or underlining in any book or cutting out pages from library books is strictly forbidden. If on taking a library book you fined it torn, or with missing pages, it should be brought to the notice of the one incharge. Failure to do this checking renders one liable to be considered responsible for defects noticed on the returns of the books.

General School Rules
  • Every student should bring the diary to school and take it honour daily.
  • Student who come to the school on their own should arrive at the school minutes before the bell rings. (See school timing)
  • The morning bell is a signal for all to go to the prescribed place of assembly. This should be done promptly and in silence.
  • Changing classrooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
  • Students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. The prescribed school uniform should be worn on all working days.
  • Boys should get their hair trim at regular intervals.
  • Shouting or whistling or any other form of undignified behavior is not allowed in the school.
  • Care must be taken of all school property and no student should scratch or spoil the desks or chairs or damage any school furniture, write or draw any thing on the walls or in way damage things belonging to others. Damage done should be reported at once to the class teachers or to the Principal. Any damage done will have to be made good by the one who does it.
  • It is not advisable to bring valuable articles or wear jewellery to the school. Under no circumstances shall the school be held responsible for their loss.
  • The school reserves the right to suspend/expel students whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • A child who fails twice in three years may not be permitted to continue his/her studies in the school.
  • Parents are not permitted to visits their wards in the classrooms. In an emergency they are to contact the Principal.
  • The name, class and section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all woolen/belonging to the students.
  • Students are not allowed to use the school telephone without the permission of the Principal. They will be called to answer phone calls during school hours.
  • Students are not permitted to buy eatable from vendors outsides the school gates.
  • Girls should not apply nail polish, lipstick or mehndi during term time.
  •  

 Regularity

  • Every student is expected to maintain an attendance record of at least 85% during the year. The Internal Assessment marks for 100% attendance, for 95% attendance and for 85% attendance will be given 3, 2 and 1 respectively.  (Out of 15 Marks of Internal Assessment 10 marks for academic performance and 2 marks for general assessment will be given.)

  • During school hours no student is allowed to leave the class without the permission of the teacher or until the class is dismissed. Written permission of the Principal or Vice-principal is required for students to leave the premises of the school during school hours. Breaches of these rules will be viewed seriously.

  • Parents are requested not to require their wards to come away from school before the school gives over, except in case of real necessity in which case , previous written permission should be obtained.

  • Pupils may not be sent home even in an emergency with anyone who might come for them during school hours, without a written request from the parent or guardian.

  • Pupils who after vacations, do not return to school on the appointed day will have to pay a fine of Rs. 30/- per day unless they have a sufficiently serious reason to justify their delay. Failure to secure tickets will not be accepted as a reasonable excuse.

  • Absence from an examination will ordinarily be allowed only on medical grounds supported by medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner. This should be accompanied by a covering letter from the parent indicating the full name, class and section of the school concerned.

  • Leave for extending holidays, attending marriages, festivals, etc. is not granted without prior written application from parent or guardian and sanction from the Principal or Vice-principal.

 

 Long Absence

Repeated absence without permission or unexplained absence for more than five consecutive days, renders the student liable to have his name struck off the rolls. Re- admission, if granted will be on payment of the re-admission fee only.

 

Entrance Test

 Generally admission takes place only for L.K. G.  Class in March /April months of the academic year on the basis of first come first serve basis. Admission to classes other than L.K.G. is considered against withdrawal and dropouts, provided students seeking admission are coming from English Medium and Affiliated Schools upto class 10th .

  Admission will be granted to those whose names are registered in the school well in time. Date of entrance test of the classes other than L.K.G. will be intimated to the parents. Students are required to appear in major subjects i.e. English (Grammar portion). Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit depending upon the availability of seats.

 

Admission Requirements At The Time Of Admission

1)     Date of birth certificate 

2)     Admission to class 2nd to 10th – The transfer certificate of the previous school countersigned by an officer not below the rank of a Distt. Inspector/ Deputy Director of education department of the state concerned. Counter signatures are not necessary if the child is transferred from H.P. Board.

 

Withdrawals

In view of the budgetary loss involved as a result of the time taken to fill the seats, the school requires that notice of withdrawal should be given atleast one month prior to the commencement of the academic session.

Failure to give such a notice in writing will entail the forfeiture of the caution money. Moreover school leaving certificate will be issued after charging all the annual dues for the next academic session.

In case of transfer or on health grounds or to join other school during the session, one months notice also be given in writing.

The school authorities reserve the right to compel the parents to withdraw their children on the following grounds:

a)     Irregular attendance

b)    Unsatisfactory academic progress

c)     Bad conduct / Misbehavior

d)    Grave insubordination to school authorities.
